Me & Earl & the Dying Girl was the standout hit of this year's Sundance Film Festival, winning both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award and receiving a five minute standing ovation.

Now one of its stars, RJ Cyler (also known as Ronald Cyler II), looks set to be one of this year's breakout actors. A Florida native, he moved to LA in 2013 to pursue a film career before being cast in Me & Earl & the Dying Girl, which was written by Jesse Andrews and based on his hit novel of the same name. Cyler plays the 'charismatic' but 'low key' (Slate.com) Earl, one of the three leading characters in the film, which Indiewire described as 'a spectacular delivery of tears, love and laughter' and 'brimming with wit, crushing last-act melancholia, laughs, and poignant heart'. With this critically acclaimed hit under his belt, Cyler's star is absolutely on the rise.
